WhatsApp introduce an app for the desktop.

WhatsApp have released an app that enables users to use WhatsApp on their computer. Using WhatsApp on a computer is nothing new, the web service has been available for some time. This time though it is a dedicated app. Other third party applications do exist that also enable users to use WhatApp via a desktop app such as FreeChat but this is the first official app. You also get more support for native emoticons and better keyboard shortcuts compared to the web app. You still need to be logged into WhatsApp on your phone though as the desktop app only mirrors your phone so be careful with data usage.

The app is available for download from WhatsApp for Windows 8 and higher and Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and higher.

So Windows 7 is not eligible for using Whatsapp on my desktop. However I use the QR scanner to use it on my desktop every time I had to connect it.

I just got it installed on my Windows 8.1 laptop and it works amazing. Now I just need to connect to my laptop and chat long hours with my keyboard.
