Barclays have confirmed exclusively to Techradar that a new update to their mobile payments Android app will add NFC payment functionality and will work with existing contactless payment systems. There is a £30 limit on transactions, but note that no authentication is required such as a pin or fingerprint. This though is the same as if you used your contactless card so it’s no less secure. Limits of £100 will be introduced if you enter your card pin into your phone before paying. This is rolling out today.
